Geno-Dawn-Thalia-Thaddeus-Gwendolyn-Cianen-Tatiana This site is intended to chronicle our lives as we hike, climb, identify flora, and our slow quest for self-sufficiency all in the mountains of North Idaho
Q: What do 2 adults, 5 children, a cat, and a dog make?
A: The Coatneys (i.e. us). Oh and chaos would be another answer. And occasionally a big mess. A big family living in a house that we are remodeling. Oh yeah, and........
It has been a long time since I have got to do some major people watching, but here I am, sitting in the Seattle airport waiting to board a plane to Israel. I forget living in a small area how big the world is and how diverse the human race is. Gotta go....
This is all about changing school lunches and the way they are prepared. Even though we home-school, I think this is a very important and necessary change. To be a part of the change just click on the above image.
Well, lets see. I am married to my beautiful wife Dawn for more than sixteen years now. We have five great children, Thalia 10, Thaddeus 7, Gwendolyn 5, Cianen 3, and Tatina all of whom we Homeschool.
I have been working in kitchens off and on since I was fourteen, and am now currently working as a Sous Chef at a great restaurant called the Hydra in Sandpoint Idaho, where we have just recently moved to. I have also spent a lot of time building houses, having learned most of my construction knowledge from my Father-in-law, although with the current economy I figured it would be best to leave the trade for a while.
Unfortunately this section has been hard for me to keep up on, but if you are reallt interested in what I am reading then follow this link http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/5777039-gene-coatney to list of my books. I do hope to update here soon though.
